How To Measure Pupillary Distance

What is Pupillary Distance?

Pupillary Distance is the measurement (in millimeters) of the distance between the center of your pupils.  An average PD reading will typically range between 55mm and 72 mm.

Frame Crafters recommends having your pupillary distance measured by a professional.  If you are charged a convenience fee, you can send us a copy of your receipt and we will deduct the cost from your order.

If you cannot find your PD on your prescription, contact the office of your eye doctor and ask if they have a record of it.  We recommend the measurement be taken by a professional, however you can measure your own PD as explained below.
